The Lastovo archipelago consists of 46 islands and cliffs and spreads over 56.2 km2. Situated south of Korčula and 60 nautical miles away from cape Gargano at the Italian coast, the main island with its 46.9 km2 is the fourteenth island according to size on the eastern part of the Adriatic.

Lastovo is, besides Mljet, Croatia's most wooded island, with all the characteristic features of the Mediterranean climate, such as mild and humid winters and warm, draughty and long summers.
